China-Burma-India Theater of World War II
James Oliver "Jim" Lewter served in the Army of the United States in CBI from March 29, 1944 until February 6, 1946 as a TEC 3 Medical Laboratory Technician with the 95th and later the 259th Station Hospitals somewhere in China.
His unit participated in the China (Offensive) and China (Defensive) campaigns, earning the Meritorious Unit award with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. Jim was awarded the American Theater Service medal, Asiatic-Pacific medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, the Good Conduct medal and the China War Memorial badge. He was Honorably Discharged on February 18, 1946.
